What is the best area to live in Las Vegas?
My best friend and I are looking to move to Las Vegas and what to know what the best area is to rent an apt in. I currently live in Chicago and after looking in Las Vegas everything is about a third the price as Chicago. We current live in a very good area in Chicago and we would like to stay is the same type of area in Las Vegas. Where whould you move?

- any where that is Not Las vegas what a stupid place to live i think
- the strip!
- None of it....it is all just one big desert...why would anyone want to live there?
- Live at the Rio...they have a screamin seafood buffett
- I live in Las Vegas and I would say Henderson or Green Valley, if you can afford it Summerlin.
- It depends on how much you want to spend a month, how close you want to be to the ammenities, if you want public transit or have your own car, there are a LOT of variables as to the "best area."
- Henderson would be a great area to live in. The south side of Vegas is full of new homes, condos and apartments. That would be another great area to live in.
- In a dumpster behind the Bellagio.
- In a carboard box behind Mandaly Bay, then you can go see the UFC fights!!!
- 1)4000 people move into Las Vegas every month. That number goes up during the summer months. 2)Apartments, condos and rental homes are in very high demand! A background check/credit history will be required, 2 months deposit and most importantly, employment in Vegas. 3)Go to www.realtor.com and use this site to navigate through what is listed in Las Vegas. Contact several Property Management companies. Don't be surprised if they tell you they won't work with until you come into their office - in Las Vegas. 4)It's high cost of living, which perhaps Chicago is too. Expect gas to stay above $3 a gallon, insurance rates are high, as are utilities and groceries. 5)Do not even consider moving to Las Vegas until you have employment, preferably for both of you. Entry-level jobs at the casinos (& other tourist areas) are minimum wage and below poverty level. Las Vegas is for the very hardy and determined. 6)Serious smog problem - if you have asthma or breathing problems, reconsider. Beautiful weather and lots to do in and around the Vegas area. Good luck....
