Vegas wedding??
I live in Southern California and was wondering if anybody out there decided to have a Las Vegas wedding instead of planning a huge affair close to home. If so, were you disappointed that all your guests couldn't come?

- I married at the Little Church of the West with only myself and my husband. Best decision I could ever make. No fuss, no troubles, no drama, no stress. Simple and about US, not how much money we could waste. I highly recommend a wedding in Vegas if you're all about simple, quick, cheap, and fun.
- I was a guest last year at a Vegas wedding. It was fun, just a small group of friends. An Elvis impersonator did the wedding, the bride & grooms names were in flashing lights (the names change about every 20 minutes). Sadly, it seems the bride and groom looked on it more as a party and kind of a joke, because they were divorcing after 3 months.
- My hubby and I got married at Excaliber w/ about 10 of our closest friends and family 4 years ago- We had a blast! Only spent about $1000.00 instead of $30,000.00 for the "traditional wedding" and used the extra money we had on a a killer honeymoon and a downpayment for a house. Hey, your wedding is only one day, why not spend it w/ your closest family and friends??? Las Vegas gives the most awesome weddings, I just paid a minimal fee and they set up EVERYTHING from flowers, dress, and even photos!!!
- Yes! Bitch I could dissapionted if my family waould come
- I am getting married in Vegas in October of 2008. I live in Central CA and it is about halfway between my home state of New Mexico and here. We still planning on inviting everyone. I will be disappointed if some people can't come, but I think that the most important people will be there. Good luck...it was hard choosing a site. If we had had it here, none of my family would have been able to come.
- If you really wanted them to come you you would get married at home, you want the ease of a day with out any planning u are doing the right thing.
- My boyfriend and I have talked about having our wedding in Las Vegas (Mandalay Bay) because it's a special place for us. We figured that the people that really cared and mattered would make it to the reception. I guess before we decide where we'd marry for sure, we'd have to ask our guests if they'd be interested in going. At least to me, it wouldn't matter who showed up as long as I was marrying the man I loved.
- Hi I don't live in Southern CA, I do live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I am getting married in June 2009 in Las Vegas, it took some time for me to figure out that planning a wedding in the traditional sense is very costly, I am a bride on a budget. After I finally decided that we would get married in Vegas {he wanted to the whole time, but was very flexible about what I wanted}; I found that you can get so much for your $$, I knew that I didn't want to get married in a hotel chapel even tho' they have all sorts of perks as far as upgraded room etc., and I also know I didn't want to get married anywhere near the glitz and glam of the strip {hard to do indeed}; so we settled on Lil Chapel of the Flowers, its off the beaten path, they have three lovely chapels to choose from, they have an on site florist, they even let you bring your own music, I think that's fantastic...! They have wonderful package deals, were both really looking forward to our big day, and when we return to the city we'll have a large reception for family and friends that couldn't make it. We've already asked the attendants and they all have agreed that Vegas would be fun, plus were giving them a yr. to get their funds together for room and airfare and fun in the casino's what could be better....! Good luck in whatever you choose, its both your day something to be cherished and remembered for always, you can always have a reception when you return and even renew your vows so that those who couldn't make it to Vegas will have an opportunity to see you married....
- I had a Vegas wedding. It was very O.K. I did miss some of the people who couldn't afford to travel. If I had it to do all over again, I would have a small Vegas ceremony and then have a big blow-out reception in CA. Good Luck!! Let me know if you need a good place to get married in Vegas.
- I got married in 98 in Vegas and everyone came! We had people all over the country and it was the best choice for us. You might be surprised at how many people would come to a Vegas wedding - it's only a 5 hour drive and a GOOD TIME!
