What are your recommendations for a Las Vegas wedding reception?

I live on Long Island but I would like to have a wedding ceremony and reception in one of the hotels on the Strip. I have received information from various hotels, But it is a little overwhelming. Does anyone have first hand experience...We would have over 100 people and I would like to have a cocktail hour followed by buffet or seated dinner, open bar for four or five hours and I would like to keep the per person fee to under $250...Any suggestions?

  1. I highly recommend the Flamingo. Their wedding coordination is excellent. My sister had her ceremony in the garden chapel... their gardens are lovely and the pictures came out stunning. The reception was a buffet in a ballroom, though I'm sure they do sitdown too. Decorations, flowers, everything was taken care of. All she had to do was show up. Not sure of the cost... but we're not made of money either and it was totally affordable for her.
  2. We are getting married next weekend at Treasure Island. We are having our reception there as well. If I had to do it over, I would fly out for a weekend and meet with people and see the site. There are some beautiful non gaming resorts. We looked into those but, we are having a small wedding. They are geared towards larger weddings Be ready for people to say they are coming and then back out. It's also hard to get any good room deals. Good Luck with it all!!
  3. I am a Long Islander too, and I love the hotel "Paris". It is gorgeous. Look into that one. parislasvegas.com Also try: decidio.com, idoinvegas.com, marriot.com, excalibur.com, renaissancelasvegas.com. Try Cesaers Palace and New York New York Hotel and casino. I stayed at the Paris Hotel and Casino. It is such a beautiful hotel so classy and just a little different that the glitziness of some of the other hotels. Yes, I agree it can be confusing and overwhelming to chose the right wedding venue for your reception. For what you have to spend, I don't think you will have a problem. See what it would cost you to hire a wedding planner in Las Vegas, as it may pay you in the long run to have a professional help you with the maze of deciding on so many things for a wedding. Do a search: professional wedding planners in Las Vegas, Nevada. Try pblasvegas.com, idoinvegas.com too.
  4. The Imperial Palace! I got married there in 1998 (on this very DAY!) - The banquet rooms are on the same floor as the chapel - so you do NOT have to go through the casino in your dress. It's very affordable - it only cost us $2500 for a 50 people reception including the cake. They even let my late father bring in his musician buddies, so we had a band! I highly recommend them. Cocktail receptions are now running at $50 per person, but I bet they still do a great job - http://www.imperialpalace.com/get_married.php?subid=33 I also seriously considered the Excalibur - http://www.excalibur.com/weddings/ Good Luck!
