Stores in Vegas

Do you have to be a customer of the Stratosphere or NY NY Hotels In Vegas to do the activies, like the roller?

coasters and such? I've been looking into different hotels in Las Vegas, where I'm planning a trip, and all these different hotels look fun and offer different things. So I was wondering if I stayed at one hotel, could I still go to the other hotels and pay for the rides and such, like at the top of the stratosphere? Or do I have to stay there and be a customer? Also, if you happen to know the going rates for the rides that would be great. Thanks!

  1. Oh yeah...if you want to buy a hot dog at the MGM, you have to be a guest. Get real! You can go to any hotel and participate in any of their activities (except for the pools--some places you cannot get in unless you're a guest of the hotel) as long as you have the $$. Coaster rides are $12.50 at the NY and $10.50 (approx.) at the Sahara. You can purchase a day pass at the Sahara, for sure...don't know about the NY. Hint: The Sahara ride, called Speed, the Ride, is better than the one at the NY... Don't know about the Stratosphere prices. Costs plenty, just to go up costs some and then the rides.
  2. You can stay where you want and use almost all of the chatrgable facilites at any hotl including the Spa but not pools. Stratosphere rides are awesome. Admission to the tower is $13.95 or $199.95 with one ride $23.95 with two and $27.95 with three. http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008/05/01/stratosphere-las-vegas-review-on-this-budget-hotel-and-casino/
  3. yep you can do any of them! i would suggest the stratosphere if your a daredevil. The rides there are something i think i would only do once because it was the scariest thing ive ever been on in my life=] NYNY roller coaster isnt that great... it's kinda shaky and short... the only reason it's good is because its on the strip and goes through the casino lol
  4. Rides, shows, exhibits and food are available to anyone. Swimming pools are not. You can't book a room at the Travel Lodge, and then go swimming with the hardbodies at the Palms. In the case of the Stratosphere, I think the tower makes more profit than the hotel. ------------ One exception is probably the Golden Nugget. They do let you wander into the pool to sit at the bar. They have the pool with the live sharks . You don't want to run out on your bar bill here.
  5. As all of the others have said, you don't have to stay there to go up the Tower and ride the rides. there is a charge for going up the tower and then an additional charge for the rides. I've done the big shot but the others weren't there on my last visit - I'm going again in 6 weeks time and I suspect my friend is going to drag me up there to ride the really scary ones! i wouldn't recommend staying at the Stratosphere, it's too far away from anything. if you want somewhere cheap and cheerful, try the Imperial Palace.
  6. You can do any of those activities without being a guest. Even the hotel guests have to pay for those rides. At the Stratosphere, you pay $13.95 to go up the tower ($10 if a guest). With one ride the cost is $19.95, with 2 rides it is $23.95, and with all 3 rides it is $27.95. You can do an all-day ride package for $33.95. A single ride on the Speed coaster at Sahara is $10 and an all-day pass is $21.95 A single ride on the Manhattan Express at NYNY is $12.50, an additional ride is $6, and an all-day pass is $25. The Adventuredome at Circus Circus is $24.95 for an all-day pass; otherwise you pay $4-7 for each ride.
  7. IF they charge any admittion to it .. anyone can go .. its the free things .. mainly pools that you can only use if you are a paying guest. Otherwise they want everyone to pay to use it. Now if you stay at a hotel that offers those rides you may get a discount to use them. That would be the only benefit of staying where riding. Look around and you will find discount of all kinds for those rides ... no sense in paying full price when you don't have to.
  8. we rode the rides a yr ago at the stratosphere and didnt stay there. i cant remember the prices. the restaurant is great to with 360degree view a little pricy but worth it if you go after dark you can see the whole city lit up
  9. The only limitation if you stay at one hotel is not being able to use the pool at another. ALL the activities from shows to gambling, etc., are open to anyone including locals. There is a fee to go to the top of Stratosphere, but that is covered in the cost to ride the rides. Shows vary in price. Check out www.lasvegasnow.com
